Literature Text

Downing milk like gin
sleep fails me again
due to a heavy heart,
an alliance torn apart

This hallow night aides
as the darkness invades
your half of our flame
now doused by my shame

I toyed with your hand
like I did with our plans
their undoing, my fault
wounds laced with salt

I loved you; still do
but there is more to you
than this tragic little town
and me holding you down
"It's just a drop in the ocean, a change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
Its like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven."

I... I don't even... Just... Ugh.

Ron Pope... A Drop in the Ocean.... Dude, I love you so much right now (that's my fav song by him!) And your poem was lovely, especially that last stanza. =D
